Spiritual Companioning

Me: Spiritual companioning is about having someone to deeply listen to your curiosity and questions about life as a human and as a spiritual being. It can be a conversation about questions on religion, Spirit, universe, or it can be a time to vent about the struggles of life, or it can be a time to share the joys of life with someone who will deeply listen and walk with you as you explore, deepen your wisdom, and open your heart. To help get unstuck - out of the head and into the heart.

Spiritual Life Center: Spiritual Companioning, also known as Spiritual Direction, is a process of deepening a person's spirituality. Spirituality is the term used to describe every person's response to and relationship with the Sacred as the Sacred (God, The Divine, Reality, etc) is experienced in one's life. The focus of spirituality can be as intimate as emotions and interpersonal relationships and as wide and diverse as the cosmos.

Contemplation

“Contemplation is life itself, fully awake, fully active, and fully aware that it is alive. It is spiritual wonder. It is spontaneous awe at the sacredness of life, of being. It is gratitude for life, for awareness, and for being. It is a vivid realization of the fact that life and being in us proceed form an invisible, transcendent, and infinitely abundant Source,”

What does a session look like?

  • We typically meet monthly - though this can be customized - for 1 hour sessions

  • These sessions can be in-person, sitting in a quite space in a house or outside; or while walking through the beautiful Earth of Cape Cod

  • These sessions can be remote - via phone call or FaceTime (open to other video calling platforms)

  • As stated on the Spiritual Life Center site - “seeker brings the stories of his or her journey and/or any life experiences to reflect on. The companion does not tell the seeker what to do but rather listens to the seeker’s story and helps him or her to reflect on the more subtle movements of the Spirit in the seeker’s story. Spiritual companioning is not therapy. The goal of this relationship is for the seeker to gain greater consciousness of and participation with the Sacred in the ordinary events of life in order to grow in compassion, freedom, and service. As such, this spiritual companionship relationship is built on trust and is confidential.”

    • The seeker - is you. The one who is seeking or exploring.

  • As a companion, I am here to listen. To share when Spirit moves me to do so, but I am here to hold space for you to share what you might be holding inside and don’t know who you can talk to about the feelings, thoughts, experiences, etc.

  • This is about your experience with life - daily living.

Mystical Living

A mystical approach to life. To me, this means living with presence and open heart - being curious about everything - or at least putting forth the effort. Living with intention and awareness to do so.

Mystical living is living with respect, humility, kindness, awareness, compassion, and love for all things known and unknown on Earth. A non-dual, oneness - a curiosity. There is no one way.

Mystical living is recognizing that as humans, we have limitations and issues and that we are not here alone. All of our life is connected and this runs through the core of everything we do.

Mystical living is me and you, us and them. It is inclusive, even if we disagree - we can view that with respect and understanding that our life experiences and perspectives are different. We are the same, yet we are unique. Both are true.

I like to find the Spirit in everything. I’m drawn to many mystical teachings and teachers, especially modern and current. These are some…

Richard Rohr, Ram Dass, Mirabai Starr, ALOK, Radhanath Swami, Kabir Helsinki, Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, Rupert Spira, Brian McClaren, James Finley, Zach Bush, Matthew Wright, Joe Dispenza, Jedidiah Jenkins, Joe Dispenza, and so on ……

I also love finding the Spirit in stories - fiction. Check my recommendations page.
